Pandemic of Distrust

Ever since I was a kid, the Democrats would grumble when Republicans were elected, and vice-versa. Yet, we had confidence all were loyal Americans trying their best to make America a great place to live. None would say this group or that was out to remake America. That would be excessive. Such language was forbidden. Today, we see the Democrats believe all Republicans desire full-boated fascism, jack-boots, and all. The Republicans believe all Democrats want Marxism, with total government control. What we have is the creation of a nuevo Pandemic of Distrust . This is new in the past few decades. Subtracting COVID completely changes nothing. COVID merely revealed it.   In totalitarian, fascist, and even monarchical states, distrust is their common state of existence, and this is why they have relied so completely on the gun. They accept their opponents’ blood-lust and take constant measures to maintain power. At this time, the USA is none of these, but nonetheless, it has been inf

Age of Greed

The USA – a Three-Party State We live in an age of greed .  From the right, it might be called a greed for money, disguised as self-determinism and free enterprise.  From the left, it might be called a greed for power, disguised as universal rights and justice.  This is old news. Nowadays we see a new force, the  greed for information .  Currently, it is merely a left-leaning political auxiliary making lots of money.  Mostly what it does is unknown except for information gathering.  The processing algorithms are complex and accurate. But they use can be modified to identify, to fractionate, to discriminate, and ultimately to censor.  All too easy.  But soon, the information moguls will come to a basic conclusion.  And that is... Why do we need either the right or left?  We control the flow of information, and we read it all. Therefore we control all.* They control, but what they want is not exactly known.  Who are the “they?” Simply put, they form an oligarchy of leade

Politics 2018

Politics in America edges ever closer and closer to insanity. It seems that when a politician arrives in DC, they are instructed to leave intelligence behind - and do. They need help - in the form of a GPS direction finder. The Democrats used their new on board GPS destination finder with input destination “Victory this fall.” Their machine first tells them “Lean left.”   Then “Turn left.” Then “Veer left.” Then “Lurch left.” The “Swerve left.” Then “Collapse to the left.” Then “Go Cuban.” Got it. Even poor Nancy has been caught by the new GPS machine. When Schumer buys-in, the mission is complete.  ---------------------------- The Republicans also bought such a machine, giving it the same destination.  Their machine told them “Lean this way and that way and this way and that way and …” And that’s just what they’re doing. ----------------------------- Now Trump looks this over and says, you guessed it, "I don't need no stinkin' machine.&quo

The Biggest Club

A message to all contenders… The Biggest Club • You belong to the club, and worked hard to achieve prominence among all. • You believe you should be club president.  • An outsider joins, and by fluke wins the leadership. • What do you do? Accept? Or Reject? • Republicans face this now. It could happen to the Democrats.  • We could soon live within the SSA – Socialist States of America. • Even now the “U” for “United” is fading.

Robert S. Mueller

Here is a situation where the President and company think Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller hired assistants completely in the tank for the destruction of Trump, while the Democrats in lock step believe he’s doing a great service, code for meaning he intends to destroy Trump.*  The sad possibility is that Mueller may have been as duped by the process as was his whole cadre of critics, falsely assuming all along his appointments would be completely impartial. Thus, could the leader of this special investigation be himself a pawn of his own staff?  After all, Mueller’s stellar reputation did not come from a history of partisanship.   If any part of this is true, Mueller finds himself in a trick box no matter what he does.  Fire the partisans and the Dems will claim he has been intimidated.  Keep them, and the Reps claim he has been bought by or is, in fact, part of the Resistance.  It is more than possible everyone involved has been duped though in variegated ways. Poor Ro

Republicans vs. Democrats Losing. When a team plays only defense, its members can have differentiated principles, can have internal squabbles, and can ignore on-the-field achievement.  This team feels good, righteous, and smart.  When a team plays only defense, it will lose the game.  But when the team manager picks fights with its star players, the outcome will be even worse - an embarrassing loss. Are we discussing Team Republican?  Probably yes. Team Democrat enjoys the game with smaller numbers on the field, quaffing a beer or two, watching their opponents squander their advantage, and winning the game. -------------------------------- What do neo-nazies, communists, white supremacists, BLM, and ANTIFA have in common?  They all don’t use their own brains, but march to the drums of others, and given careful instructions on what to do, where to march, and how to think. People who sign on to fringe groups seldom have independent minds, have few achievements,

Trust-Tennis-Tweets

Trust is the currency between peoples.    Destroy trust and you destroy the world. Currently, trust is eroding everywhere, interpersonal, interparty, intercountry, across the world. In the congress, in the press, in the workplace. Trust and love have one common quality.  Once lost, they are near impossible to recover. ---------------------------- Summing up the Reps and Dems.  Problem at hand: Deciding the color of the toilet paper in congressional restrooms.  Solution Reps: Unable to compromise, adjourn for vacation.  Solution Dems: Unable to consider or process request, await decision from leadership. -------------------------- If you watch tennis these days, you will see that every player seems to hit the ball harder than ever, with more spin, and with more skill than ever before. Many come with an entourage of personal coaches.  But the dress is what you first notice, particularly if you’re not a player.  Many of the men dress as though they came to mow the lawn, wor

Random Thoughts - 8

You hear much about Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and all those other services selling alternative programming.  Why is that?  It could be little more than enhanced alternatives with another channel for delivery. It could be more choices.  It could be the traditional television networks offer little more beyond their traditional tripe. It doesn’t work any more. ------------------- I’ve been watching on Netflix an Australian series, Dr. Blake Mysteries .  Not bad.  How lucky they were, five years after total war, these citizens during the years 1946-1959.  It is true: Many were still grimaced by the war. Many were still grieved by their losses. Many were still flagged from their suffering.  However, almost all rejoiced in their affirmation of the excellence of our victorious countries, our system, what they stood for, and their preeminent position in the world.  Aside from the horror, there remained a certainty we were right, the enemy was vanquished, and we were the pathfin

Poor Nancy

It’s in the DNA of both political parties.  When the Republicans lost the Presidency in 2008 and 2012, they blamed the candidates.  These two, McCain and Romney, were blamed on all fronts for the debacles.  Reps learned their lesson, through Trump, who was off the charts of the same-old-styles.  He was different; he was new breath of hope for many. The same brew-of-blame has been fermenting on the Democratic side, now for more than half a decade.  Lately, when Hillary lost, the blame was directed toward President Trump, not Democrats.  This persisted through months of various charges, particularly the Russian collusion investigations with no actual evidence.  Now after four straight loses to Republicans in special elections, the Democrats, true to their predilections, have turned blame upon their own Congressional leader Nancy Pelosi.  Many blame her for these loses. Her tenure is at risk.  Poor Nancy.  She may be a bit ruthless, but lately was trying to do what was expected:

It's What They Want

“It’s what they want,”  is the message we receive from both Dems and Reps,  and from the left of the Dems and from the right of the Reps.  The Freedom Caucus (Rep), for example, demands the people want fiscal austerity, balancing the budget, and therefore a reduction of all spending, no matter what. Period.  The Dems, mostly in locked-step, believe in ultimate humanitarian goals by providing everyone with all they need.  Just increase spending, they tell us.  The Reps want to rein in spending, develop more free enterprise, and “hopefully” grow an economy that will support a benefit-thirsty population.  The anarchists simply don’t know what they want beyond their love of disruption.  Throwing crap into the fan and hoping it will land in the right place, is the extent of their thinking.  And this assessment is far too kind. All claim that what they propose is what the public wants!  Not so.  All these groups somehow have equated what they want to what everyone wants.  My gosh, s

Love and hate - politically speaking

Timeline for James Comey.  There are two emotional threads.  Love and hate and then hate and love. July 5, 2016 .  Comey condemns Clinton for mishandling classified information.  But then say we will not indict.   Dems love it.  Reps hate it. October 28, 2016 .   Comey’s wait a minute moment.  We reopen the investigation, found new emails with classified info on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. Oops.  Reps love it. Dems hate it. Interim.  Both sides generally disdain Comey basically because he seems beyond the control of anyone.  Reps hate Comey; Dems hate Comey.  Especially, Hillary hates Comey, blaming his “re-opening letter” as a primary cause for her loss. May 9, 2017.  Trump fires Comey.  Reps claim it was appropriate; Dems also, probably.  However, because Trump did the deed, Dems hate it; Reps love it. Even the Nixonian metaphor has been issued – within an hour of the termination letter!  But it’s OK since it was made by an aging Senator.  “Never let a crisis go to

Fraud, Sickness, and Trump

A.     Fraud :   Beware, my friend, of anyone or any party that proposes to pay for any government program by eliminating fraud.   The fundamental problem with this claim is simply that the amount of fraud, how it is done, and to what fiscal extent are largely unknown – admittedly so by the feds.   Only special cases are understood.   Specifically, all flavors of federal medical care should be singled out.   Some estimate it amounts to $60,000,000,000/year.   Fraud is amazingly difficult uncover, to prosecute, and then to prove.   Even organized crime has recognized it as an income source far less dangerous or risky than traditional venues. Miami, for example, is considered the Medicare fraud center of America, with New York a close second. Fraud in the defense industry, largely through cost overruns, has been rampant for decades, but what has been done?   Give just one example? B.     Sickness to continue: ·        Democrats: Repealing Obamacare will "make America sick

Viva el baño

For one side or two of politics these days, it seems that what you do matters far less than what you say. Moreover, it is just as important what you (say you) believe. But who knows what any of them believe nowadays?   Who can you trust when you trust no one? One simple fact about the terrorist Ahmad Khan Rahmani is that ISIS will never claim his acts are on their recognizance.   Why?   Because his actions were beyond stupid. He was captured almost immediately; one of his big bombs and others did not detonate.     He is alone with no support. This is his ultimate punishment. He will spend twenty years or more in prison - completely alone. If ISIS would claim him as theirs, his life would be complete.   Not to happen.  Question.   What do Secretary of State John Kerry and New Jersey bomber Ahmad Khan Rahmani have in common?   Answer.   Same IQ. Truth is greatest ally of power.   It matters little if the "truth" is actually true.   It is the pronouncement.
