Hate and You

When you live on a diet of hate, it affects you, your outlook, and your worldview. It singles out defeating the hated target at all costs. It supersedes and changes other goals, likes, loves, and desires. Even your sense of humor changes.   After a time, you are permanently changed. If the target is defeated, you become lost, as your addiction to hate is unrelenting. You find new hate. Don't hate too much. It takes too much energy. It changes you. It consumes you. Ultimately, it destroys you.

Twelve Don’ts for Living

Twelve Don’ts for Living 1.        Don’t waste time on revenge. It takes energy, but don’t forget it either. The possibility may come along. 2.        Don’t waste time on hate. It takes too much energy. 3.        Don’t cheat your employer. You are paid for the work. Do it well. 4.        Don’t fake it. Only those less intelligent than you will be fooled. At most half of them will believe. 5.        Don’t co-mingle your beliefs with your understandings. They are different. 6.        Don’t gossip. You’ll get a reputation. 7.        Don’t palaver your politics. About half will disagree, but you’ll never know who. 8.        Don’t proselytize. It makes you look bad. 9.         Don’t believe it even though you want to. Check it out. 10.    Don’t shirk responsibility to your family. You made them. You owe them. 11.    Don’t lie to your kids. They sense it and learn to lie back to you.  12.    Don’t lie to your spouse. They hear you far beyond mere words.

Hate-o-Meter

I do believe everyone believes hate is rampant in America. But hate has always been. Let's take a graphical look at the current situation and where we are and where we are going.  I was raised a country (this one) and  I remember the day when the cry was for there to be no color in America. All were to be simply citizens. Now witness the preaching of oppressor and oppressed, while others believe their country has deserted them. Hate travels by many names, and it has ascended with millions of followers.

Advice for America

"Hate is not a good political advisor." Generals are advised not to plan battles while angry. CEOs are advised not to face competition through hate. Lawyers are advised not to argue from the passion of hatred. Married folks are advised not to exude hate in family disputes. Professional fighters are advised to keep their cool. So, why are so many politicians fueled by hatred?

Uncertainty Can Be Ugly

A big term these days is “Uncertainty.” This means people are not sure of what’s happening. Another big word is “Manipulation.” This means some quantity is altered on command. Adding one and one, we have “Manipulated Uncertainty.” And this means some agency is manipulating the uncertainty.   It applies to trade, to stock prices, to war, to politics, to materialism, and even to climate. Massive gains are available, as are massive losses. Causes: Too much money, too much polarization, too much hate, too much emotion, too much greed, too much profit, too much power, and too darn easy. Think it new?  Nope. Ancient.

Always Have Hope

Always have hope! Hope is like a tiny battery deep inside you that must not fail. If it fails, you fail. Did you wake up this morning?   Have a little breakfast? Have a home to live in? Have a few dollars? Have some family?   Be thankful.   It could be a lot worse. Many a reporter is concerned more about constructing a complete sentence than about what’s in it. Politicians are concerned about neither. Is it true those with the greatest capacity for hate also have the greatest capacity for love?   Hmm.

The Lost Generation of Tomorrow

Drowning in modern hate, many seek love not knowing what it is or where to look.   Years from now, the lost generation of our times may describe those so saturated by hate they were unable to find love. Not unlike those of past generations who were shattered by war, hate ultimately causes a loss of human identity.   Everything in their life, it will be written, was filtered through their hate, diminishing regular human relations, being unable to disassociate even the simplest event from their hate.   Hate, it will be reported, was highly contagious. Well documented are many examples of people consumed by horrors of war, obsessed with making money, or so wrapped with some beliefs that no form of normalcy was possible. The lost generation of the 1920’s came from World War I. The Catholic inquisition, beginning in the 12 th century was hosted by priests saturated with a compulsion to control religious dissent or combat heresy.   The French Revolution was captured new commoner class

Modern Hate

When I grew up, we were all told and believed that love conquers all. In the last decades its antipode has reared its head.   Yes, HATE.   It has walked in the room, ordered drinks, and is working its magic on all.   Now we have so many hates and too little time to enjoy them. Hate is has never been more popular. These days we have… Muslims hate the Infidel. The Turks hate the Kurds. Saudis hate Iranians. The Democrats hate the Republicans. Blacks hate the Whites. Socialists hate the Capitalists. Climateers hate the Deny-eers. Hamas hates the Israelis. Atheists hate the Believers. Walmart hates Amazon. Remember the simplicity of the Kingston Trio lyric? “They're rioting in Africa, They're starving in Spain. There's hurricanes in Florida, And Texas needs rain. The whole world is festering With unhappy souls. The French hate the Germans, The Germans hate the Poles; Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch, An

Drunken Shopping

A new condition of drunk shopping is here.   It turns out drinking and online shopping really do mix.   Recent results show that drunk shoppers are avid online buyers – to the tune of $39 billion last year.   Hmmm, at least they’re not on the road. (http://fortune.com/2019/03/20/drunk-shopping-2019/) No vindication is ever given by true hate . A peril of 5G technology.* Using 5G technology with block chain and other secure fiscal transfer methods, operators (i.e. bad guys) may be able to move money about in a nonlinear chain of accounts so quickly and so frequently, the real destination may never be determined. Just imagine a large balance transferred one hundred times in a second, and each transfer must be explored individually.   Now multiply by ten thousand accounts.   Indeed, the blur of transfers may never be unraveled. *5G, now coming to a service near you. Probably 2019.  You'd think our Congress would be hot on this topic. Nope.  These guys can't even solve th

The Logic of Hate

If hate is a disease, it is virile, vile, contagious, and lethal.   It has sanctioned all varieties of murderous activity, including war and the destruction of entire groups, ethnically, religiously, and politically.   This emotion of destruction compels those infected with a single-mindedness overwhelming any sense of propriety.   It defeats normal logic and decency. Associated,   there is a logic, and it’s simple.   Call it the first order propositional logic of hate .  "If A hates B and B loves C, then A hates C." This is also a type of converse transitivity.   Aristotle, of course, would be dismayed. You may say the logic of hate is ridiculous.   Yet, the philosophers have constructed quite an interesting and complete logic of belief .   It even has a name , Doxastic logic. Just Google it. Applications: a. Let A = Catholics, B = Protestants, and C = Martin Luther.   (maybe a little dated) b. Let A= Muslims, B = Infidels, and C = Baptists or any reli

More Quotes for This Day

On Love: When citizens stop loving their children, they stop loving their country. When citizens stop loving their country, they reject their future in favor of que será, será . More on Hate: Many authors maintain that hate is contagious. Perhaps.  If it is a disease, it is one from which only a few are immune, and possibly even fewer recover.  Hate does not make best friends, but does create co-haters. A bond built on hate is weak. The hateful person is eventually hated. Some develop a thirst for hate.   Filling an emotional need, it substitutes for love.   For globalists: A. When you put your country second, you put your citizens second as well. B. If you want globalism, you must be willing to redistribute many of your rights. C. When you give away the keys to your castle, you aren’t likely to get them back. D. When you jump into the tornado thinking you know where you’ll come out, you’re either kinda crazy or kinda stupid.

Pure Hate

Hate quotes are everywhere.   The Internet is loaded with them.   Many are created by celebrities trying to be clever.   Many more are created by philosophers. Others are biblical.   Some are fantastic; most are stupid. Check them out.   Did you know the usage of “hate” in the literature has tripled in the last twenty years*?   Hate is becoming ever more popular.   Here are few manufactured at my little factory of convolution – except for the Perry Mason quote, which I like. Hate is the swizzle stick of discontent.   (And after it stirs things up, it pollutes.) Some people tend a garden of hatred, fertilizing their crops with coarse and vile thought. “Hate has a taste all its own that fills your throat and chokes you.” --- The Perry Mason Show, The Nervous Accomplice. Hate destroys - the self when internal, others when external. “I hate the weather,” is not hate, but merely a rebuke. They say hate is an emotion, but it is also a fuel. Hate is expected to be a bumper crop

Quotes for the Day

A. “Hate has a taste all its own that fills your throat and chokes you.” --- The Perry Mason Show B. “There are a great many people who are more clever than intelligent.” --- Bruno J. Zwolinski C. For some schools, excellence is always on summer vacation. D. The loyalty paradox:   Uncommon loyalty favors neither good nor evil, neither the scared nor the profane, neither love nor hate.   E. Fundamentally, learning is as nonlinear as are the differences between students. If all were linear, teaching would be easy. F. Cosmologists are the ultimate optimists, believing a complete knowledge of the universe is at hand.   Yet each problem resolved reveals another with double the difficulty.

James Comey and Donald Trump

James Comey - former FBI director turned author.  His editor must be tearing his hair these days with new testimony and discovery requiring new chapter versions.  Likely his staff is sub-titling the future book, “Revelations then Rewrite.”  Cheer up, Jim! The truth is there; you may find it yet. For the Dems, it has been a love-hate-love-hate, and now love affair with hate just around the corner.  For the Reps, it’s been mostly hate all the way.  ----------------- On the Trump foreign policy: We may ask if President Trump is taking us to the edge of the volcano to see what’s there, or if he has some plans for quenching the fires down below. In a way, it is good news he has top generals guiding his moves.  These guys understand the horror of war, and do not celebrate “glorious death.”  They also understand that weakness invites reckless adventures by bold despots who themselves are guided by the simplistic policy to “hang on and they’ll cave.” A game difficult

Love and hate - politically speaking

Timeline for James Comey.  There are two emotional threads.  Love and hate and then hate and love. July 5, 2016 .  Comey condemns Clinton for mishandling classified information.  But then say we will not indict.   Dems love it.  Reps hate it. October 28, 2016 .   Comey’s wait a minute moment.  We reopen the investigation, found new emails with classified info on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. Oops.  Reps love it. Dems hate it. Interim.  Both sides generally disdain Comey basically because he seems beyond the control of anyone.  Reps hate Comey; Dems hate Comey.  Especially, Hillary hates Comey, blaming his “re-opening letter” as a primary cause for her loss. May 9, 2017.  Trump fires Comey.  Reps claim it was appropriate; Dems also, probably.  However, because Trump did the deed, Dems hate it; Reps love it. Even the Nixonian metaphor has been issued – within an hour of the termination letter!  But it’s OK since it was made by an aging Senator.  “Never let a crisis go to

Go Figure

Trump.  Nowadays...  If you watch left-leaning channels, you will rarely hear anything positive about Trump.  If you watch the other channels, you will hear constant editorials about how Trump is not living up to promises.  I mean like we are only at about 100 days in.  The Dems are locked into a unity of contempt; the Reps seem to have more camps of interest than most countries have political parties, each criticizing Trump isn’t pure enough in their direction.  Promises???  Most newly elected officials simply say what's that?  Go figure. -------------------------------- Salt.  When I was a kid, years and years ago, almost every locker room had salt dispensers.  We were advised to take some any time we felt we needed the mineral.  Then, suddenly they disappeared, with the admonition that it was only rarely needed.  More damage than harm, etc. Now it’s back with trainers recommending the need for salt when working out or playing hard.  Go figure. ------------------

Thoughts XXIII - Random

1. If the ad even mentions the word "affordable," to me it means I can't afford it or its not worth it.   Affordable has become a buzz-word for costly, for inept, or for deception. 2. Many auto ads are now signifying they feature an EBS, emergency braking system.   These show a driver being completely distracted from driving and then just at the point of a crash, the EBS takes over and saves the day. It will not affect you and I.   It will, however, affect the ever-stupid teenagers believing they are even more bullet-proof than already do.   The EBS will certainly cause deaths and then lawsuits. Many will die. This is a problem for the near future, with actual crash victims charging the manufacturer with faulty equipment or inaccurate expectations.    3. On Hillary's health issues - in the spotlight.   Is the Dem inner circle ready to throw Hillary under the bus in the interest of the progressive agenda?   Possibly. But how can they do it?   Curious quest

Twice as Cool? What's that?

The other day while I was listening to a radio show, an advertiser boasted their underwear would make me twice or three times as cool.  Sounds great BUT what does this mean?  Nada.   We have here a mix of the quantitative with the qualitative – seemingly a trend in the misconception of terms.    The new (false) math applies multiples to qualitative objects.  Twice as cool.  Twice as hot. Double your happiness. Ten percent of your brain power.  Loving you three times as much… Dress up your claim with math, and you convince the ignorant.  That so many use these false math claims are made indicates a profound ignorance or misunderstanding of the listening public. Google almost anything and you will get hits.  Google any multiples of anything and get hits again.  Some examples: Double your love life; Triple your risk; Quadruple your happiness – wow!  Can you really "double your pleasure, double your fun," by chewing Double Mint Gum?   Are our students given to doublin
