Politics imitates Hollywood.  First, we had the Mueller investigation.  (You know about whether the President colluded with the Russians.) Now we have the sequel .  (You know about Congressional Democrats investigating the same thing again.)  But, at the same time, we have the prequel . (You know about how the Russia collusion thing originated.)  Box-office battle now engaged.   May the force be with you. 😊 ----------------------- When I was young, folks on the far left were usually well read, articulate, and interesting.   Only a few actually believed what they said, but they carried themselves well and made good arguments.   Nowadays, they are free to act and sound as dumb as the rednecks of old. I guess that’s progress. ----------------------- The luxury of the future will be privacy.

Princess Grace resisted you know.   She gave up her movie career to be the princess of Monaco and mother, even though movie offers poured with whopping fees.   The question is will the bride of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, be able to resist Hollywood and their offers North of $20 million to do a film.   My guess is there is a pre-nup in there somewhere that restricts this, but heck, she can do it anyway.   What can them dang Royals do? Meghan will be celebrated by women’s groups and the press. The movie will earn millions but demonstrate she can’t really act.   But that’s ok. Wait for the sequel. First film will be in 2020.   After all, she is getting a little long in the tooth for a leading lady with no real experience.

“NAZI” is the key word in modern defamation.  Doesn’t matter whose political far-side you’re on, left or right, the term “Nazi” is your preferred diatribe toward your opposite.  Calling someone a Nazi has replaced calling them a SOB or even worse.  It’s sort of an anti-intellectual upgrade of profanity, but profanity it is.  “A rose by any other name…” I blame it substantially on Hollywood.  They have kept the Nazi mythos alive for going on eighty years.  At least a couple of Nazi or Nazi-type movies are released annually.  Nazis are ever on our mind. They have become the ultimate nonsecular evil. They are the color to paint your opponent.  It works! Nowadays the Nazi concept represents strength attractive to rather uneducated and weak individuals.  “Think like a Nazi and you’re powerful like a Nazi,” is the limit of their philosophy. “Bomb a church, or beat up some innocents,” are their operations. Religious fervor has less to do with religion than it has as a state of mind.   It is single minded, righteous, and self-justified. It is the guiding light of every form of extremism.     It promotes a single agenda, often in the form of “against them.” The further to the left the left goes, the longer the Republicans will stay in power.   For the left… More promises will not help.   More globalization will not help. More open borders will not help. More food stamps will not help. More student disruptions will not help.   More political correctness will not help. The moral of this story is,   “Go left and lose; go far left and lose big.” If Bernie Sanders, a decent person, re-emerges at least control to the Dem agenda, the Reps win for sure. Every Hollywood celebrity vowing to leave the country if the Rep wins gives the Reps an extra 10,000+ votes.   Is anyone on the left swayed by departure promises from such folks? Doubtful. ...
