Paradoxes - types and examples

Problem Solving – Paradoxes   1.      Introduction . Paradoxes have long been a true source of problems for professionals and the laity alike. They are often set as puzzlers. They demonstrate traps of logic, science, and life itself. Some are even linguistic, having to do with meaning. They can occur almost anywhere aside from books on them. They can be embedded within wicked problems, a home for vague language and conflicting values, uncertainty, and multiple solutions. Even logical fallacies can counted as paradoxes until they are identified. Oftentimes, paradoxes signal a major revision to the meanings of terms and even to the logical foundations of how we think.  Let’s begin with a definition. Definition: A paradox is a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true. Modern Journalism

Modern Journalism. Old maxim (modified): If you lie down in the dirt, you wake up dirty. Applied to journalism, we witness a new breed of journalists altogether. Gone are the days of carefully researching an article, checking and re-checking sources, and isolating the story from personal bias. These days we have. 1. The Truth About Truth - 2019

Announcing the 2019 update to our short essay about truth in its various forms, its ambiguity, and its debasement toward multifaceted forms.   Now at the end of 2019, four additional forms are included or introduced, negotiated truth (actually now in the literature), prayerful truth (a classic in religion but now in the service of politics), false truth – yes indeed, and mathematical truth . You might think mathematical truths are the cleanest, clearest, and unquestionable, but this is not so. With so many conflicted forms, and so many variations, truth has become the bane of itself. To most, it is a shame that such a revered term has become so confusing.  Yet, truth is a work product of civilization. Link here  https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/truth-2019-g-donald-allen
