Bad news for us pill junkies...
A
recent food supplements vs. food intake study found that people who consume adequate
amounts of vitamin K or
magnesium had a lower risk of death from any cause, compared with those who
didn't.
In addition, people who consume adequate levels of vitamin A,
vitamin K, zinc or copper had a lower risk of death from heart disease,
compared with those who didn't.
The key point is that the adequate amounts
should have occurred from food, not supplements.
The study also determined certain supplements, such as
calcium, were associated with increased mortality risks.
